Vampire Librarian
- I work at Library X, an undergraduate library at University Z. Library X is open 24hrs a day, 5 days a week. Once upon a time, I worked the 4pm-1am shift and before that I worked 12am-8am. Now I work days, but the moniker remains.

We didn't like ours much at first, but now we direct most of our loathing at the room reservation-event calendar software.
Oh, I hate that too. Especially since I'm expected to do it but no can get the permissions set up correctly for me.
Our library is "looking into" getting RFID. It's hilarious that management is spinning this as a way to "free up staff to deal directly with patron questions."
I guess that's better than admitting they want to can a bunch of staff after it's implemented...
FREE UP? FREE UP? Don't make me laugh. Ha, ha, ha. I need more students because I have another service point I have to staff due to RFID, but no one figured on that so I haven't any extra money. I have to make do with the same staffing levels as when I only had one service point.
